Goodness me, how did we get to 2023? Now seems a good time to write an update post.
We’re having a fairly good summer here, all things considered. The last few years, the weather here has been rather more changeable in early summer, presumably because of climate change. This year is no exception. It’s now the norm for us to have lots of wind, some ridiculously hot days, some ridiculously rainy days, and for some reason random hail in November. We had all of these things before, of course, but it all seems so much more, well, extreme these days. How about where you are? Have you seen any strange weather?
I had a bit of trouble keeping up with my update schedule towards the end of 2022. I’ve had symptoms of long COVID for a while, and in mid November I had a flare up that lasted until about Christmas, plus my child brought a gross snotty cold home from daycare, yay! As a consequence, I didn’t get around to reading many books, because the few hours I could find to be productive I dedicated to my paying work.
I hope to do better this year, but it’s not always up to me; my child and my borked immune system come first and second.
I have a lot of interesting-looking books on my TBR that I hope to be posting about in the future. Fingers crossed.
I did manage to finish one project, though! Shortly before Christmas, I released a free novelette. It’s a prequel to my book Goddess Found that I will be releasing later this year. If you want to try the prequel Hunter Ascendant, you can download it here.
Jack is backpacking around a foreign country to have some fun before he goes to mage tech. He’s got his life after this holiday planned out. Sort of. But then fate comes knocking in a most unexpected way. He figured this holiday would help him learn more about himself. He just didn’t know how much there would be to learn.
Since I now have something of my own to promote, I’ve been trying out StoryOrigin. It’s been working for me well so far. I’ve organised a group promo called Deities Among Us that will be running from 16 Feb to 15 March. If you’re an author with a book that fits the theme, check it out.
